Busy, Busy, Busy...

This has been an amazing summer! Just like every summer I did my week of camp and I had a wonderful time, I got to know some really great kids and see some awesome kids I haven't seen in a year. I have also been running the kids Korner program on Tuesday and Thursday evenings, and the middle school Youth Group (C.H.A.O.S) (see www.da-chaos.blogspot.com for info) on Friday evenings. I've taken the kids on two feild trip and there is still two left. Then there is Jr. Church on sunday mornings, Sarah and I have been splitting it taking turns each week (except the weeks Jimmy preaches... then there is no Jr. church) Also we have already had our first movie night here at DA. We watched The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, and it went fairly well (I wish more people would have come but it was only the first).I'm working on the second one for Aug. 19th we will be watching Noah. I've also been working on skits with C.H.A.O.S for them to do during the service and I have been working on music with Kids Korner for the closing. Sarah and I have also decided to do a bible study together once a week, usually on Mondays and it is going quite well. Also Bonnie has made Kevin and I feel included in the going ons of the Sr. Youth here and invited us to their annual Feild trip to Magic Mountain (we go with them everyyear LOL :D) It has been a lot of fun and it can only get better.

Working at the church also gives me the opportunity to gain experience as a secretary. I have been making the buletin, answering the phones, dividing up the mail, phoning around for drives for the kids programs, and Making sure all the prep stuff is done for Sunday morning. Overall this has been an awesome summer so far.

On the personal side, Kevin and I are making plans to go to see Dad in Toronto for a week. He is giving me a car for graduation so Kev and I are flying up and then Dad is driving us back in my car. Since neither of us has a licence yet (I have my permit) the car will be parked at my Nan and Papa's house for my cousin Dana to use probably until christmas. I can't wait to go up cuz I get to see a lot of people that I really don't get to see enough of (for some of them that a good thing LOL). I'll get to visit my Uncle Tony, Danny and Charma, Ann marie and Andrew, and Dad Kevin and I are taking Charma's nephew Dilly to Paramount Canada for a day. It should be absolutely amazing.

Also some more big news... my friend Rachel and her boyfriend Josh are now engaged and will be getting married in May. So the church is buzzing with tons of exciting wedding talk. He purposed to her at Hampton Bible camp... let's just say he was her knight in shining armor. LOL!

Speaking of weddings, We have made a couple of important decisions. We picked a date July 26th, 2008. We picked this date because we should both be finished school by then, and We like the date. :D I have chosen my Maid of Honor (Bonnie) and Kevin has chosen his Best Man. We have most of the wedding party chosen... and I have made an important decision... I have asked Jimmy to give me away. I know most of you already know that I was going to do this but what some of you may not know is that he said YES! YAY!!!!!! I am so happy. Jimmy has been a Dad to me since I was little. I could never get away with anything around him and I don't think I would ever want to. He has helped to make me the person I am today and without him I am almost certain that not only would I not be the person I am today but I don't think I would even be here today. He has stopped me from doing a lot of stupid stuff and the funny part is that he did it without even realizing it. He and bonnie helped me to see that I was loved even when everything I thought I loved was gone and everybody that I trusted had let me down. And there is nobody on this earth that I would rather give me away than him so I am the most thankful girl that he said Yes! But that is enough about wedding stuff because after all it is 2 years away still.

This Sunday is Kevin's Birthday so he is down for a couple days then he goes back to the Island (Deer Island) until the 18th and then he is home! YAY!!!! I can't wait. I get to spend a week with him here and then a week with him in Toronto and then 2 days with him here and then I leave for Charlottetown with Sarah. I'm excited aboout school and all but I am going to miss Kevin so much. It's a good thing that there is a holiday at least once a month. (well almost) Anyway That is all for now. I know this was an incredibly long post... sorry!

Have a AWESOME week!
